In a new step reflecting the mutual trust between the Egyptian state and the national private sector, the city of Safaga today witnessed the signing ceremony of the usufruct agreement for the integrated logistics center project between the General Authority for the Golden Triangle Economic Zone and Beit Logistics Company – Beit Logistics Park, in the presence of high-level executive leaders from state institutions and the private sector.
This project, which is being implemented on an area of 15 feddans (approximately 65,000 square meters), with investments exceeding 500 million Egyptian pounds in its first phase, is the first of the logistics projects within the Golden Triangle development plan. It aims to transform the city of Safaga into a regional hub for import and export trade, serving production areas in Upper Egypt.
Engineer Medhat El-Kady, Vice Chairman of Beit Logistics Company, explained in his speech during the ceremony that this project is a practical implementation of the political leadership's vision to stimulate investment and encourage the private sector as an active partner in sustainable development, in line with the state's direction to transform Egypt into a regional center for trade and logistics services.
He expressed his gratitude to the Golden Triangle Economic Zone Authority, headed by Engineer Mohamed El-Abadi, and to the Authority's leadership, as well as to Major General Amr Hanafi, Governor of the Red Sea, for their excellent cooperation in cooperation in finalizing the agreement.
El-Kady added that the new center includes:
Advanced logistics warehouses spanning 16,000 square meters and reaching a height of 18 meters, with an operational capacity of up to one million tons of bulk cargo annually.
A container and general cargo handling yard covering 50,000 square meters, with a capacity of 100,000 TEUs annually, designed to serve energy and infrastructure projects.
An administrative building and control center equipped with the latest camera surveillance systems.
A fully integrated container maintenance and repair station adhering to modern standards.
An advanced electronic system for tracking logistics inventory and managing operations.
A modern, environmentally friendly land transport fleet powered by clean energy.
El-Kady pointed out that the project was designed to be a model for green logistics centers in Egypt, relying on solar energy and sustainable building standards (EDGE), in line with the state's vision for transitioning to a low-emission economy. He also explained that the project will provide approximately 350 direct and indirect job opportunities for residents of the Red Sea Governorate, along with the establishment of a specialized training center to qualify local personnel in the fields of transportation, logistics, and security and safety.
He emphasized that the Beit Logistics project in Safaga complements the Safaga Port and the Ministry of Transport's system for developing supply chains and logistics infrastructure, making it a model of integration between the public and private sectors.
Al-Kady concluded his remarks by affirming that Beit Logistics, with its extensive experience across its subsidiaries in the fields of shipping, maritime services, and tourism, will continue to implement this project according to the highest international quality standards, making it a genuine addition to the national economy and a cornerstone of development in the Red Sea region.
Since its establishment, the Authority has been working to transform the Golden Triangle into an integrated economic zone, combining mining, energy, and logistics services, and leveraging its strategic location connecting Upper Egypt with the Red Sea ports.
This project serves as a model for the integration of efforts between the Authority and national investors to provide advanced infrastructure that contributes to enhancing trade and exports and creating new job opportunities for the region's residents.
